comes to rest
by Ashley Capes

the dandelion clock roams
like a heart-beat fairy

over blackened trees
that reach from a seabed
  of green -

frozen shipwrecks
  spilling charcoal
from glorious wounds

and peppering the sand -

  each spore
thinner than mist,

comes to rest in
the smallest places.
